Sometimes a five-act structure isn’t enough. Writing complicated and challenging stories can be a daunting task. Different levels of complexity require tactics, confidence, and a small amount of rule breaking. Drawing on his work and process, Jon Berry will share his approach to handling writing work of this kind and offer key exercises and advice on processes to help you take on that daunting task!

Running time of workshop: 2.5 hours – delivered online. Maximum class sizes are 16. A portion of spaces have been reserved for Share the Drama places.

Jon Berry

Jon Berry’s work for theatre includes Bear for Wales Millenium Centre & Awen Cultural Trust; Birdwatching, created with the Royal Court’s Welsh Writers’ Course; Strays, created with the New Welsh Playwrights’ Programme, Sherman Theatre. Jon has been awarded the Kevin Elyot Award for Drama. He is also on the editorial board of Platform, the Performance Studies journal. His debut full-length play, Tachwedd, premiered at Theatre503 in Autumn 2024.
