OffTheWallCo in association with Theatre503 presents
20 Feb – 24 Feb
Enter a world where not everything is as it seems. At just three weeks old Grace was diagnosed with Encephalitis (A rare inflammation to the brain) and all is about to change.
‘I just wanted to switch places with her, I just remember thinking why her? Why my daughter?’ A heart felt, honest story, of Grace’s life after Encephalitis and the effects it has on her family. Strict routine, sudden outbursts of anger and little mix on repeat, sometimes the world outside Grace’s bedroom can be all too much. ‘When the initial horror of the situation is over, no one really cares anymore, it’s just another day’.
OffTheWallCo was started by Annie two years ago with a group of actors training at ALRA. The company started with their first showing of Tracing Grace at the Edinburgh Fringe festival, it then went on to York and The Menier Gallery (London Bridge). Their next stop after 503 is The West Yorkshire Playhouse.
Supported by The Encephalitis Society.

‘Tracing Grace’ is Annie’s debut play. Growing up with a sister who has suffered from Encephalitis, Annie decided she wanted to write a piece to spread the word. There’s not a lot of theatre that explores these kind of issues, yet there are so many families out there who live with or know someone who’s had brain damage. Annie is keen to create theatre that delves into the truth, but keeps an abstract element as its through line.
