To Walk In Your Shoes

“There is no immigrant because we are all human. If a British person can be an ex-patriot in Africa, then we are all ex-patriots here, seeking a better life.”

Created from interviews with asylum seekers, refugees and community workers living and working in the North of England, this heartfelt, funny and moving verbatim play explores the side without a voice, the resilience of the human spirit and challenges the myths perpetuated by the media.

The project was originally developed in 2013 in association with documentary photographer Rachel Munro-Fawcett, PAFRAS Leeds and City of Sanctuary Manchester.
