The Words Are Coming Now
Written by April De Angelis, Richard Bean, Dipika Guha and many more...
#TIMESUP …on abusing your position…on staying silent…on not rocking the boat….on accepting our lot…on compromising…on making excuses…on transferring the blame…on being a victim…on not being a victim….
…the words are coming now…
Theare503 presents an urgent response to recent revelations of sexual harassment, abuse of power and the movements resulting from it. 10 remarkable writers have responded with short pieces ranging from where we are now to a glimpse of the future. Some you know – April De Angelis, Richard Bean – some you’ll know about soon. An ensemble cast of 9 actors and 4 directors will rehearse this week to present an exploration of consent, power and the “new normal”.
Each of the 5 performances will be followed by a post-show discussion inviting a broad discussion addressing positive steps that we, not just in theatre but in wider society can make, but also where there may be pitfalls ahead or do we believe nothing will change.
