LAMDA and Theatre503 present...
La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain (1968 to 2025).
A family drama, shaped by war and exile.
In 2025 Alba receives a box full of letters written by her exiled granduncle to her grandmother, Lidia.
In 1968, as the Francoist Regime in Spain begins to stumble, Lidia tries to keep the balance of a family split through politics, by not talking about it. However, what is happening outside her home starts to seep into her life since the memory of her exiled brother decided to return, a companion that only she can see, constantly reminding her that peace has a price if it comes through silence.
Esther Fernández Guerra is a theatre director and writer from the Canary Islands. She started her artistic career as a dancer and has over 16 years of training as a ballet dancer. After that, Esther studied acting in the Escuela de Actores de Canarias (2009/13), where she learned a very physical approach to theatre and character construction. This combination of drama and dance makes her a very versatile and creative director, with a strong movement approach to theatre. Esther is currently studying an MA in Directing at LAMDA.
