Grace is single for the first time in ten years. With nothing to lose, she embarks on a journey of sexual self-discovery and ends up somewhere she never expected to be. An underground hardcore BDSM club called FRICTION.
At FRICTION, Grace meets Alex, a smooth-talking regular, who invites her to take a deep dive into her fantasies. It doesn’t exactly go to plan. Between running into her boss in the playroom, ruining a not-so-open-relationship, k-holing and falling down a flight of stairs – Grace can barely catch her breath. And now, she has to make a choice. Return to her ex-boyfriend? Or give FRICTION one more chance? Energetic, chaotic and heartfelt – FRICTION is a story about empowerment and self expression.
As a theatre company, Flawstate have produced Bored of Knives (Greenwich Theatre / The White Bear), Babydoll (King’s Head Theatre) and their upcoming show Ava will be playing at the Golden Goose Theatre in October. Common Ground are a new company, which focuses on community outreach, networking events and writing workshops.

Victoria Strupish
FRICTION is Victoria’s debut as a playwright, and was informed by her experiences working as a dungeon monitor for a variety of events in the London fetish and BDSM rave scene. Her experience in events includes: Riot, Quench, Klub Verboten, Pinky Promise, Fox and Badge, PissSoir, One Night, and Reverse. She is also the founder of the fetish life drawing event Art Club. As a performer, Victoria has recently been featured in the short film ‘Constellations’ as part of a campaign for the dating app Feeld.
