503Studio Masterclass: Character Building – Building Three Dimensional Characters, Tyrell Williams
A personal approach to building three dimensional characters. A session exploring the process and importance of ensuring how our work represents complex human beings in its storytelling. Tyrell will explore his own journey into writing and his experience in relation to the topic plus there will be Q&A opportunities.

Writer/director Tyrell Williams co-created, co-wrote and directed the viral web series #HoodDocumentary in 2015 which has had over 4million views on YouTube. Following its online acclaim, #HoodDocumentary eventually went on to be commissioned as a web series for BBC Three which Tyrell directed and co-wrote. He was on the BAFTA Elevate scheme 2018 and was a Broadcast Hotshot in 2016. A ten-minute version of his first play, RED PITCH, won ‘Audience Favourite’ at the Young Harts Writing Festival at the Lyric Hammersmith, and a developmental production was then presented as part of the Untold Season at Ovalhouse in 2019. In February/March 2022 RED PITCH had a full run at the Bush Theatre, London to critical and widespread acclaim.
Tyrell has assisted Ola Ince and Ellen McDougall respectively and has shadowed television and film directors, including on the series of “Drifters”, “White Gold” and “The First Team”.
He has other original television scripts in development, other work includes writing an episode for a major remake of a classic for a top streamer. He is a recipient of the New Play Commission Scheme 2022 led by WGGB in partnership with HighTide Theatre, UK Theatre and the Independent Theatre Council.
