Wandsworth Writes is a unique free opportunity for anyone between 18 – 81 who lives or works in Wandsworth.
Theatre503 are running 2 online introductory playwriting courses starting in November.
Courses will be divided by age, each running for 5 online evening sessions followed by one in person sharing of participants work.
You will explore finding starting points/inspirations for writing; creating characters; writing monologues, developing dialogue and subtext, dramatic action and character arcs, rhythm and dialogue, spoken word and poetic language, location and setting, and the opportunity to read extracts from a number of Theatre503 plays.
There will be practical writing exercises, tutorials, script reading and the opportunity to meet and talk to members of the Theatre503 team. So if you’re interested in writing for the stage and the working of a new writing theatre this is an ideal opportunity to get a taste.
You do not need any writing experience, or you may have tried and now find yourself wanting to return to it. Whatever your experience we want to get to know you.
Thanks to the support of the Wandsworth Council these courses will be offered free of charge.

“There are loads of courses for writers out there once you’ve got some experience, but there’s nothing for writers who don’t even know they’re writers yet. I wish there had been something like this when I was starting out”
Ross Willis ( Theatre503’s 503Five Alumni and writer of Wolfie)
