Join The Slate

The Slate is a multi-year co-producing, philanthropic opportunity to support the earliest point of the new writing pipeline and recognise the value it brings to the rest of the theatre and screen industry as well as its social value. The Slate is an annual fund supporting our ongoing schedule of play development and productions/co-productions of the most outstanding new plays worldwide. By joining the Slate you will:

  • Support new and diverse voices to make ground-breaking theatre
  • Meet the next generation of the best new writers at the most important stage in their careers, and build ongoing and lasting relationships
  • Be part of a creative community and 503’s legacy
  • Support young people in our community to engage with their creativity and become writers of tomorrow
  • Gain a first look at the most exciting scripts by debut writers before they are produced
  • Receive first refusal to participate as a co-producer in productions of interest produced by 503Productions
  • Be introduced to writers of interest
  • Share in the potential long-term financial return from an uncovered gem

We read and receive over 2,000 scripts a year from all over the world and filter them down to the very best. We matchmake them with exceptional directors, producers and companies to bring their words to life. Across the first iteration of The Slate (2022-2025), we supported a total of 16 Slate productions and will participate in subsidiary rights and management participation rights of the future life of each of these plays for up to 15 years.Slate membership begins at £5,000 per year for a 3-year term.
