Our Writer’s Programme here at Theatre503 is focussed on upskilling writers of all experience levels throughout the theatre industry and beyond. Facilitated by industry leaders, including 503 Alumni & 503 team members; our courses, masterclasses and intensives offer a vast range of topics to give every writer something to choose from. We offer a mix of in person & online sessions, making it accessible to writers both locally and throughout the globe.

We send out the links to all online Masterclasses and Courses via an automated email system at 5:30pm (GMT) the day of any masterclass or the first session of a course. If you have signed up to a course or Masterclass and do not receive this email at 5:30pm (GMT) the day of your registered class or first session of a course, please contact us at writersprogramme@theatre503.com and a member of the team will send this to you directly before the session begins.Please note, for courses, every session is accessed via the same link sent in this pre-event email.
We are delighted to be able to offer a limited number of concession rates for all Writers’ Programme sessions as well as 1-2-1 Dramaturgy for those for whom the cost is prohibitive. As part of the Theatre503 Writers’ Programme, we are now offering a year round 1-2-1 dramaturgy session to give detailed feedback on your full length script and its potential development.
Each session will involve one of the Theatre503 Literary team, or one of our roster of expert dramaturgs, having read and prepared notes and questions on the work, and these will be the foundation for the 2 hours. Whilst the exact format of each session will differ, you can expect to be asked in depth questions about your aims and objectives for the piece, detailed analysis of the content and applicable aspects of the craft and an open and honest discussion about the strengths of the piece, the areas that may require further development, and the process through which any further work may be approached.
